Arkansas Mechanic's Lien Law – The Hershewe Law Firm

The definition of mechanic’s lien law is the claim against real property for work done or materials supplied for the property. The main purpose of granting a mechanic's lien to service and material providers is to establish priority in collection actions over other types of creditors. The Hershewe Law Firm offers legal advice on mechanic’s lien law for those who have not been compensated for their work performed or resources supplied in Arkansas. Our construction law attorneys aggressively defend our client’s claims and can help you if you are in this type of situation. We want to make sure you get the compensation that you deserve.

Our skillful attorneys understand Arkansas construction lien law and will walk you through the process. Arkansas statute permits every contractor, or material supplier, who supplies labor, services, material, fixtures, engines, boilers, or machinery in the construction or repair of an improvement to real estate, by virtue of a contract with the owner, proprietor, contractor, or subcontractor, or agent thereof, to claim a lien against the improvement and up to one acre of land upon which the improvement is situated. Arkansas law also requires you file the lien with the clerk of the circuit court of the county for which the work has been done. The filing must be done 120 days of the date that the labor or the materials were provided. A lien is then good for fifteen months unless a suit is filed within that time frame.
